In my eyes, artwork is one of the most wonderful gifts you can give, particularly to those nearest and dearest to you.
I tend to fall head over heels for less traditional mediums, which is how I first discovered artist Rachel Austin. Her fabulously original mixed media designs, many of which are painted on maps, are among my favorites. And her color palettes make me so very happy. I already “like” Rachel Austin on Facebook and I love her map print “Sellwood” which I was thrilled to receive as a gift earlier this year.
I purchased several pieces of RAA artwork and my favorite, hanging on my wall, is her map painting “Foster Island” (mine has crows on orange swings)….
I love all of her work! This would make a great addition to my collection.
I love the Birds and Blue Pinwheels, it’s just darling. Her bird prints would be lovely in a grouping in my little daughter’s room!

Oh! I love Rachel’s work. The Poppies series and the Map series are so beautiful. Great color sense and compositions. It’s hard to pick a favorite! Perhaps “Hart” or “Fernwood”?

Ive been a fan of Rachels for a while now, since I visited her booth at a craft fare in seattle. My favorite so far is her caravan piece, I love how it reminds me of childhood holidays. I already “liked” Rachel but her blog is much better than the facebook page, she makes you part of her world. Such a lovely lady.
I love the painting “Douglas” and all of Rachel’s wonderful map paintings. I first saw her work at Crema on 28th, and fell in love with her work. Tweeted (from @breezetribe), liked, and happy to see how many fans exist!
