american beauty

The Swanson family is overflowing with talent. From the family’s frozen food legacy, to the three sisters‘ individual endeavors + their family-owned Swanson Vineyards, which is known as one of the hippest in Napa. It’s probably an understatement to say the Swansons are always creating something wonderful.

So, it’s certainly no surprise that when Claiborne Swanson Frank set out to create her debut book, American Beauty, she teamed up with publisher extraordinaire Assouline.

A self-taught photographer with a fashion resume that includes a two-year stint at Vogue where she worked under Anna Wintour, Claiborne’s social circle is undoubtedly the perfect subject for such a book.

“Photographed by Vogue alumna Claiborne Swanson Frank, American Beauty features over 100 portraits of quintessentially American women such as Lily Aldridge, Solange Knowles, and Jenna Lyons — each of whom possesses an original blend of grit, grace, glamour, and gravitas that echo far beyond the pages of this oversize hardcover.”

I can’t wait to add this to my library for spring.

praia piquinia

At the very top of my wish list is a subscription to Christian Chaize’s collector’s series of Praia Piquinia prints.

It began in 2005 on his annual (and swoon-worthy) pilgrimage to the seaside of Portugal. Since then, Christian has returned each and every year to photograph the same locale, capturing its crystal waters and colorful beachgoers. To me, it’s the perfect landscape study.

You know how some say you’re either a beach-going or mountain-treking person through and through? Well, I’m definitely the former, no matter how hard I try to love those majestic alps. The seaside gets me every. single. time.

My tote is beach bound every chance it gets. How about you?

Like many, I simply can’t get enough of Sharon Montrose’s newly debuted line of Little DarlingsHer work really is the crème de la crème.

city girl

It’s hard to believe I’ve called San Francisco home for 8 months now. It’s a wonderful city, and has treated me to so many great experiences.

One of my favorite strolls is in my very own backyard, where the Golden Gate sits perched perfectly. I never grow tired of its grandeur, and love watching the fog dance around the bridge. I have to resist taking a picture most days I walk by, since I have more than I know what to do with. Perhaps I should start selling postcards? I kid. But some days I just can’t resist. Between sunrise and sundown, sunshine-y days and those with endlessly dense fog, this bridged beauty always strikes a pose… “say cheese”

the wedding collection

The new wedding collection by 31 Bits is here and, in a word (or two), it’s picture perfect.

Quite possibly the most beautiful shoot I’ve come across in a long time, captured in true Trever Hoehne form, and styled impeccably by the fabulous Summer Watkins.

As luck would have it, I had the privilege of visiting the 31 Bits compound last summer, during my first trip to Uganda. The young women behind this company are total go-getters, and have grown both their brand and business so well.

Cheers to a beautiful new collection 31 Bits beauties!

Oh Meg, you just became my new favorite person.

Stunning portfolio of Danish photographer, Signe Vilstrup.

Prepare to get lost for hours, as her shoots are beyond gorgeous. So much inspiration…

i tumbl

Since moving to the city earlier this year, I found myself chronicling my day to day far more regularly than ever before. San Francisco has so many sights to see, and really, everything is just so new to me.

Instead of keeping the snapshots locked away in my silly little phone, I thought I’d create a visual photo journal of sorts, since I’ve never been much of a pen-to-paper type of journalist.

So come visit me on tumblr, and if you have a tumblr account, please do share! Other tumblrs have become my new favorite thing to follow (Pinterest aside – this is an entirely different love affair).
