It’s that time of year when the air starts to get a little more crisp and we start to crave those warm spices and cozy days at home. We always get asked how to change your space for the season. With fall around the corner, we wanted to share a few ways that we spruce up our space each season to keep things feeling fresh and let’s be honest – We can never stick with one style for too long! Such is the curse of working in interior design. If you have a light, neutral palette to begin with, a few small changes can make your entire space feel brand new, and get you excited for cooler months ahead. So, let’s get into it!
Tip #1: Update pillows and throws.
One of the easiest ways to change your space for the season is to update your pillows and throws. While we’re not big fans of a theme, we do love bringing in warmer tones and textures for the fall months, and sticking to light hues and blues for the spring and summer. Tip #2: Switch up outdoor decor.
When it comes to outdoor areas, we love changing up our patios with a new outdoor mat, new planters, and maybe even a new wreath. If you have outdoor seating, try new pillows and throw blankets to add another layer of cozy. We’ve rounded up a few of our go-to outdoor picks below!
Tip #3: Make your dining area entertaining-ready.
The fall and winter seasons are known for entertaining, so we always go all-out with our dining table this time of year! A new set of dinnerware and a pretty table runner can make all the difference.
Tip #4: Freshen things up with greenery.
If you ask us, the more greenery the better! Add fresh new greenery around your space, including in bathrooms, on your fireplace mantle, in the kitchen, and in your entryway. It’s such a pretty way to make a space feel warmer! Shop some of our favorite vases and vessels below.
Tip #5: Swap out art prints.
If you want to go all out, try switching out your art prints to reflect the new season! Larger pieces typically stay up year-round, but if you have smaller prints on your shelves or in a gallery wall, try adding new prints for a brand-new feel.
