We’ve been eagerly waiting to share our newest #mgdxrancho project with you all, and we’re so excited to be revealing part one today! This stunning home in Rancho Santa Fe, California seamlessly blends traditional and transitional styles. Our clients were drawn to the California ranch lifestyle, which is perfectly captured on their 2.7 acre idyllic property just 15 minutes from the coast. This family home sets the stage for a lifestyle of functional comfort and timeless beauty. Keep scrolling to see the barn, entry, living room, bar, dining room, and playhouse in part one!
Entry
The entry was updated from its original, humble design. A custom steel front door was designed to elevate the home and add a defining architectural element. Wallpaper lines the walls, layered with collected artwork from our client’s travels, family pieces, and a few new finds. The custom bench is upholstered in a patterned fabric and paired with an oak console and woven mirror.
Living Room
The living room sits right off the entry. The room fills with natural light all throughout the day thanks to large picture windows, which are original to the home. Custom drapery diffuses the light beautifully. The original wood burning fireplace was reimagined to be a statement focal point, clad in beautiful natural stone.
A custom commissioned abstract art piece adds a unique touch to the space. On either side of the fireplace are custom designed built-ins featuring a feminine silhouette in a shade of green. A pair of opposing sofas anchor the lounge seating, one in velvet and one in linen. The cozy, oversized accent chairs are the best seat in the house!
Bar
Next up is the home bar area – designed to be a hub for entertaining, making a drink, and allowing guests to make themselves at home. Bespoke cabinetry and a warm mix of brass finishes create an inviting space. Storing and serving beverages is made easy with an integrated wine refrigerator and ice maker. The marble countertop with an integrated slab prep sink adds a touch of elegance and makes cleanup a breeze!
Dining Room
Now onto the dining room. The informal, formal dining room is situated right off the bar area, with beautiful views of the backyard. It’s surrounded by natural light with French doors that lead to the pool. Iconic tongue & groove ceilings and beams define the space and give it an understated look and feel.
Our clients wanted a casual space for family gatherings and indoor-outdoor dining that felt like a natural extension of the rest of the home. We designed the room to include a custom two-toned linear pendant, custom oak dining table, and vintage rug to complete the space.
Playhouse
The sweet playhouse is used by our client’s girls for play dates and afternoons on the ranch. Designed with playing house in mind, it’s a cozy and charming space for the littles to spend hours on end!
We hope you loved part one of our latest project reveal – We just love this home and can’t wait to see the joy it brings to our clients for years to come.
