At MGD, we create curated bespoke homes designed for intentional and everyday living. As Founder and Principal Designer, Mindy Gayer started her Costa Mesa studio to bring beauty into neighborhoods near and far. Drawing inspiration from both world travels and local California living, we specialize in designing tailored spaces for clients that are equal parts beautiful and livable. For Mindy, the magic behind every project lies in every thoughtful detail. Pulling from numerous sources and experts ensures that each home truly reflects the best of the client’s lifestyle and aesthetic.
Our small Southern California-based team works to bring your dream home to life, and we’re always taking on new clients who have both new builds and full-scale remodels on the horizon.
As Founder and Principal Designer of MGD, Mindy has worked tirelessly to create a brand that encompasses the best of laidback California living. As an Orange County interior designer, she specializes in designing tailored spaces that are truly unique to clients and their families, with an emphasis on livability and functionality. When Mindy isn’t immersed in her designs, she lives the California lifestyle her brand represents — finding joy in all things both locally and afar. She currently resides on Balboa Island and finds happiness in her daily iced tea runs, attending all of the cute farmers markets, and finding just about any reason to hop on a plane and explore a new place.
Leah brings a little East Coast flavor to the MGD team. After graduating from High Point University with an interior design focus, she made her way west to let the natural textures and influences of the California coast lend inspiration to her designs. Now, as an Orange County interior designer, her role at MGD spans both large and small residential projects. When she’s not working, she loves to travel with the fam, catch some rays by the pool (while sipping an iced vanilla oat milk latte, of course), and lose herself in a good book.
Heather’s design background brings a tailored style to the MGD team. Her self-described style of California-coast-meets-Southern-charm is inspired by her travels and design industry experience. She specializes in reconstructing old and existing spaces into more functional environments that perfectly encapsulates the client’s lifestyle. In her free time, Heather loves to find new local coffee shops and spend time with her son at the beach in Oceanside.
Maria was raised in Lima, Peru, but moved to California to pursue her passion for interior design. After graduating from FIDM in Los Angeles, she headed south to Orange County and built design experience working with well-known architects and developers in the industry. Her design inspiration comes from her travels and passion for architecture, and she loves creating spaces for clients that are both beautiful and functional. In her free time, Maria likes to go out on walks with her cute pup and bake delicious goodies at home.
As Procurement Coordinator at MGD, Hannah keeps the team in check on the regular. As an Orange County native, she knows the lay of the land and is a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to navigating the design and lifestyle industry. Let’s just say, she’s become a bit of a savior on more than one occasion at MGD! Hannah oversees all projects, from purchase to install. When she’s not working, you can find her with her frenchie Oshie, getting a spontaneous tattoo (or two), or off on a quick weekend getaway to Mexico
Julia brings a wealth of organizational, operational, and project management skills to MGD. She has an eye for the details, and she carries an aura of calm and care to the office every day — making her an invaluable part of the team. When she’s not busy at MGD, she’s adventuring around sunny southern california and always looking for an excuse to plan her next trip to the charming town of Charleston.
