How To Style An Entryway

Design
January 12, 2022

A few weeks ago we asked you all on Instagram what spaces you needed help styling, and one of the most-requested topics was the entryway! How to style an entryway depends on the layout of the space and the functionality you need. For that reason, we’re sharing two different styling options so you can piece together your perfect entryway. So, let’s dive in and get to styling!

#MGDxWindward

Our first entryway design centers around a sideboard or console with built-in storage. This option works well if you have a little more space, and are looking to add extra storage or styling surfaces to your entry. We love a mix of open and closed storage space, so this sideboard fit the bill perfectly! From there, add a lighting source like a table lamp or wall sconce, an oversized piece of art, an area rug or runner, and lots of fun styling details.

Our second styling combo centers around the entryway bench! (Psst… If you missed our entryway bench combos, head there to shop lots of more of our favorite pairings!). We often opt for a bench in an entryway design because it’s just so functional. It’s the perfect place to slip on shoes as you head out the door or take them off as you get home. For this styling, all you need is a statement bench (how pretty is this woven version!?), a piece of art you love, and a few cozy layers in the form of pillows and a rug.

So, there you have it – The MGD guide on how to style an entryway! Whether you’re going for a sideboard moment or a bench version (or both!), we hope this has been helpful in deciding your design direction. Don’t miss our recent post on how to style a console table where we shared our design tips and another styling combo! Let us know in the comments which space you want help styling next.
