Our Guide to Designing a Gender Neutral Nursery

Design
March 25, 2020

Let us be your go-to resource for all things gender neutral nursery decor, vetted by our MGD team and moms alike. Today we’re sharing two designs we put together that are perfect for a gender neutral nursery. They’re equal parts beautiful and functional, and cute to boot! Keep scrolling to see (and shop!) our California Babe design and our French Babe nursery.

California Babe

First up on the tour is the oh-so-popular gender neutral nursery, Cali babe edition. Perfectly suited with all the sandy neutrals and textures. Our favorite part? The abstract art that’s sure to grab your new babes attention! Once you find out the sex of your little one, this room is easy to transition… like swapping out the pillow or adding in some fun crib sheets. Or, if you’re like us, it’s neutrals for life!

French Babe

Ah, the French Babe. This nursery design has the sweetest vibe, oui? The combo of the french striped rug, woven deco pendant, and the produce wall art… we’re ready to call this spot home. And, the effortlessly laidback feel of this room is what we love most. It easily transitions between both a girl’s or boy’s room, and we can totally see your little one playing in here for years to come!

The kitchen that naturally became the heart of the The kitchen that naturally became the heart of the home. At #mgdxpaseoclemente, this space was designed for the rhythm of everyday life - morning breakfasts, after-school snacks, and evenings when friends gather around the island and stay a little longer than planned. Layered materials, warm finishes, and a palette that plays with contrast give the room depth while still feeling welcoming and relaxed. Sharing a few peeks at many of the special rooms in this bespoke home that is rooted in both tradition and southern charm. We’ll be photographing this beauty later in the spring and can’t wait to share more 🤍 #mindygayerdesign
