Unique paint colors are one of our favorite ways to add character to the spaces in our projects, and with every year come new trends! While there will always be timeless white and dark hues that we opt for over and over again, we do like to opt for more fun and trendy hues in small spaces like powder rooms, mudrooms, and kids rooms. Today on the blog, we tapped one of our senior designers to key us into the 2022 paint color trends we can expect and look out for heading in to the new year! 2022 Interior Paint Color Trends
According to our design team, we can expect to continue seeing the rise of warm neutral tones, including shades of putty and warm white. We used Farrow & Ball’s Shaded White in our recent Inner Sunset project for a subtle neutral mudroom moment. Heather by Dunn Edwards is another putty-meets-warm-white hue that we have our eye on for a few projects in 2022. We’re also expecting to see more introductions of rich brown hues into these same warm neutral palettes, and we love the depth they add to the space!
The next paint color trend we have our eye on is more varied green tones, ranging from pale hues to darker greens with depth. We’re really loving Rookwood Shutter Green by Sherwin Williams for its romantic depth and almost blue undertones.
Last but not least, let’s talk about some fun pops of color! Our design team is expecting to see more bright pops of color introduced in a monochromatic room application. Think painting the cabinetry, trim, casing, and millwork all in the same bright hue. A few colors we’re loving for this trend are yellows, lighter blues, and pale purples and mauves. Try Yellow Ground by Farrow & Ball for a sunny hue or Intuitive by Sherwin Williams for a moody mauve.
