For the first time ever on our interior design blog, we’re sharing allllll of the Windward paint colors from one of our recent projects! You’ve probably seen #MGDxWindward on our social accounts and on the blog over the past few weeks, and we’re so excited to share another element of this project with you.
This particular project is filled to the brim with unique paint hues in the prettiest shades of grey, green, black, and beige. Most of the home was designed within a neutral palette, with a few subtle pops of color throughout. The unique hues we’re sharing today are the perfect way to add charm to a neutral home! Keep scrolling to see how each was used in the home. We can guarantee you’ll find a new hue to use in your next project!
When you first walk into the home, you’re greeted by an expansive entry in the prettiest shade of white. We love how this bright hue reflects all of the natural light pouring in through the windows. We carried this same white throughout the main spaces of the home, including the stairwell, family room, and dining room. (Psst… Visit our white paint guide for more of our favorite white hues!)
A black barn door takes you into the mudroom, painted in a timeless but unique shade of grey/green. We pulled the same color into the kitchen in the form of the island cabinetry. We just love how it all ties together! A pale light grey in the laundry room creates a bright and serene environment that we really wouldn’t mind spending a little extra time in.
One of our favorite parts of this home is how each room has its own unique point of view. That’s especially true in the fun bedroom spaces we created for each of our clients’ 4 kids! Each room truly reflects its inhabitant’s personality. We know that these will be spaces they’ll cherish for years to come.
In the eldest boy’s bedroom and bathroom, a dark olive shade of green perfectly complements masculine details and vintage sports memorabilia. In the bunk room, a dark teal gray hue makes the custom bed frame pop, and it’s all tied together with the cutest printed bedding. Built-in shelving and desk spaces in each room are painted in varying shades of grey, and we can just imagine late night homework sessions being a little more bearable in these spaces. In the main bathroom, we opted to paint the custom vanity in an off-white hue to add warmth and dimension to the bright and airy space.
