Our hearts are so happy! The day is here at last, and we’re opening up to share our beloved Lake Arrowhead project. What better way to kick off this project reveal than with the most impressive before and after photos to date… seriously it’s THAT good of an overhaul from its original state. This project began over 2 years ago and began as a full interior remodel. The entire home was loving constructed by our client and his talented team, and we worked hand-in-hand to create their dream 3-story cabin.
Scroll through to learn more about the project details, and how our team focused on transforming this dated cabin into a true lakeside retreat!
Kitchen / Family Room
The footprint of the kitchen here is actually quite small, but after spending time designing the custom cabinetry and freestanding island to maximize things a bit more, we were able to get this little kitchen to look and function as though it’s a full-sized kitchen, complete with all the amenities a new space should have. The cabinets are painted a shade of grey-green, complete with black quartz countertops around the perimeter, along with a custom white oak stain grade island with a quartz island countertop.
As you can see, right off the kitchen is this cozy living room…and we love that this space just begs to be enjoyed. This was a unique space to design from the get-go because of the layout of the existing floor plan, so we capitalized on a few odd corners and angles, and made the most of them to really make the room feel special and intentional with the various seating areas. The fireplace wall is clad with a natural gray stone veneer, and we played up a once unused corner to now serve as a reading nook, paired with some of our favorite leather sconces and textiles. The extra storage here is a bonus too!
Guest Bedroom/Guest Bath
The main Guest Bedroom here has incredible natural light throughout the day, so we opted to keep the room feeling light and bright. We went through a few rounds of wallpaper selects, as well as headboard designs, before we landed on the final design here. This is always one of my favorite parts of the design process and selecting pieces to pair together. Inevitably, there are always a few winning combos, but I love love love what we landed on for this space. It has the perfect feel when you step foot inside, and is the place I’d wanna curl up with a good book and catch a little cat nap. Vacation goals right here.
The adjacent Guest Bath is clad with so many of our favorite details, including a hand-laid grey & white checkered flooring, tongue & groove millwork, a custom oak vanity to warm things up a bit, and lots of other playful details. Because this space will be used by both kids and adults, we wanted to make sure it could be enjoyed by both as well! And you know what, it might just be our favorite bathroom in the home!
So that just above covers the main floor of our Lake Arrowhead project! Isn’t it the perfect lakeside escape? There are so many dreamy design details sprinkled throughout this project and we can’t wait to share Part 2 with you all tomorrow! Next up, the remaining two floors: the Master and Family Suites. Stay tuned!
