Before & After: Marigold Remodel P.3

Projects
August 10, 2020

This week, we’re continuing with our tour of #mgdxmarigold, showing you the bedrooms, adjacent bathrooms, and the study. This part of the home really is the heart and soul, and so we couldn’t be any more grateful to design these rooms for our client. Scroll on down and enjoy! xo

Before

Guest Bedroom

To start, let’s make our way to the guest bedroom. We wanted this space feel as inviting as possible, so we brightened it up a bit with a fresh coat of paint, cozy linens, and of course, pops of pink. Who wouldn’t want to be a houseguest here!?

Guest Bathroom

Continuing on with the theme of brightening up the space, we made this guest bathroom feel much more light by giving it a neutral palette and then enhancing it with subtle touches. We especially are fans of the white shiplap walls and detailed floor tile, both which add a modern look to the room.

Study / Stairs

Next, let’s take the stairway to the study. We wanted to create a work environment here that felt both peaceful and productive, with a nod to the beachy surroundings of Corona del Mar. We started with the basics: a vintage rug and custom slipcovered sofa, and then we added natural wall hangings and a woven pendant to draw the eye upwards to the white oak beam.

Main Bedroom

Now onto the the main bedroom. When we first saw this space, the vaulted ceilings and opportunities for light really caught our eye, so we added elements throughout that highlighted these features. We designed the room to be layered with different pieces, colors, and textiles — making it feel both timeless and personal to our client. It really is a haven of a room!

Main Bathroom

The main bathroom of this home is unquestionably one of our favorite before and afters. The Calacatta marble throughout paired with white shiplap give it a calming base, and then the custom artwork and gorgeous pendant tie it all together. We would happily self care all day here!

The kitchen that naturally became the heart of the The kitchen that naturally became the heart of the home. At #mgdxpaseoclemente, this space was designed for the rhythm of everyday life - morning breakfasts, after-school snacks, and evenings when friends gather around the island and stay a little longer than planned. Layered materials, warm finishes, and a palette that plays with contrast give the room depth while still feeling welcoming and relaxed.
