Friday Faves Vol. 2

READ

Plant Magic by Christine Buckley is for all of you who are herbalists at heart (or those of us who are wanting to be!) This beauty is a modern and accessible field guide to all things plant medicine, making it the perfect book to dive into throughout the weekend. Just make sure you have a notebook nearby, as there’s so much inside of it that you’ll want to write down!

EAT

In the dog days of summer, all we seem to be craving is salad. But as anyone would know, all good salad routines deserve to be shaken up a bit. That’s why when we saw this Thai salad on Bon Appetit, we knew it was a recipe to try. It’s the perfect balance of spicy, crisp, fresh, and filling. Dig on in!

LISTEN

We love seeing Australian journalist Alison Rice’s podcast pop up on our feeds each week — her conversations with “women behind the Instagram accounts we all follow” are ones not to be missed. She seems to ask just the right questions, doing her research before each interview. One of our favorites as of late is her conversation with Goop’s Chief Content Officer, Elise Loehnen. Take a listen and be inspired!

STAY

If you’ve been browsing Instagram these days, odds are that you’ve seen pics of The Hotel June on your feed. This boutique hotel in West LA is not only brand new, but boats a beautiful swim club, design-forward rooms, and thoughtful menus at their two restaurants. It really is the kind of place that screams “weekend getaway,” and we couldn’t be any more excited to pack our bags and stay for a night or two this summer. Bonus points: they’re taking extra precautions to make guests feel safe, welcomed, and worry-free.

If we had to rate everything that Supergoop makes, their Glow Oil would be high on the list. Not only is it SPF 50, but it leaves skin feeling light, moisturized, and glowy. It’s most certainly the perfect summer companion to never leave your side.
