If you’re planning a wedding or you’re just a fan of beautiful outdoor entertaining, this one is for you! We shared Mindy & Evan’s rehearsal dinner and wedding day on the blog earlier this week. Today, we’re giving you an inside look at how to recreate these intimate wedding weekend design looks for yourself. For both events, the details were of utmost importance. Mindy worked to make sure each element came together perfectly in a design that felt uniquely personal and not overly trendy. Keep scrolling for a closer look at all of the rehearsal dinner and wedding design details!
Rehearsal Dinner

For their backyard barbecue-inspired rehearsal dinner, long family-style tables were adorned with gauzy runners, tall mustard-hued beeswax candles, simple stoneware, and patterned napkins. The overall feel of the event was perfectly welcoming, and guests played lawn games on the property outside before dinner. Evan’s family cooked an authentic Santa Maria-style BBQ dinner, which was outlined on hand-lettered menus at each place setting.

Wedding Day

Now, onto the wedding day! First, there was no “theme” for the reception design. Rather, they focused on bringing in intentional details that felt uniquely like them. A long family-style table was perfect for the smaller guest list. The goal was to make the event feel like a intimate dinner party where all of the guests felt like everything was catered to them. Woven details on the placemats and glassware tied in the light wood tones in the chairs and beams overhead, while string lights and taper candles created the most beautiful ambiance. Personalized stationery details and lots of loose centerpieces tied the entire look together!
