Kids Furniture Roundup

Design
September 8, 2021

While there are many things we love about designing our clients’ homes and projects, there’s something so special about putting together kids spaces! Many of our clients have young children, so fun bedroom designs that reflect each child’s unique personality are a priority. Today on the blog, we’re sharing a roundup of the best kids furniture in a “choose-your-own-adventure” format! Start with a kids bed frame, add a nightstand and a dresser, and tie it all together with the perfect kids area rug. Ready to dive in? Let’s get shopping!

Kids Bed Frames

First up in our roundup are bed frames! In the kids bedroom spaces we design, we often start with the bed frame to set the tone for the rest of the room. We always want to choose a bed frame that can grow with them as they get older, so look for something that has classic lines. However, don’t be afraid of a pop of color!

Kids Nightstands

Once you’ve picked a bed frame for kids room design, let’s add some nightstands! We love opting for nightstands that have lots of storage space for the little ones’ favorite toys, books, and a lamp or sconce to read by at night.

Kids Dressers

Next up, let’s choose a dresser! Depending on the bed frame and nightstands you choose, we typically try to find a dresser that has the same general style but doesn’t “match” perfectly.

Kids Rugs

Last but not least, let’s add an area rug. While neutral is usually the name of the game at MGD, if your bed frame and dresser are fairly neutral, try adding a pop of color or pattern with an area rug! Pro tip: In a kids space, we always add a thicker rug pad to help cushion any falls and make playtime on the floor more comfortable for everyone involved.

What should we round up next? Let us know in the comments!

The kitchen that naturally became the heart of the The kitchen that naturally became the heart of the home. At #mgdxpaseoclemente, this space was designed for the rhythm of everyday life - morning breakfasts, after-school snacks, and evenings when friends gather around the island and stay a little longer than planned. Layered materials, warm finishes, and a palette that plays with contrast give the room depth while still feeling welcoming and relaxed.
