Tucked away in Newport Beach, CA, our Peninsula Point project is just the best little place to call home. With the perfect mix of masculine meets minimalist, combined with leather and wood accents throughout, our team re-designed this beach bungalow with surf-culture influences at the helm, bringing this home from midcentury to coastal cool for our client. The complete renovation resulted in a well-curated home with lots of crafted details throughout. Scroll through Part One of our Home Tour, and learn more about our design selections…
Kitchen
First up, the Kitchen. Can we get an amen for bright white kitchens? When re-designing this portion of the home, our team focused on keeping the open layout prominent, salvaging the original Carrara marble countertops (taking them from polished to honed), and selecting a bright white paint to juxtapose the beachy blonde custom-stained hardwood floors and furniture accents throughout. The furniture pieces are all custom, made in the USA, and crafted with so much love and attention to detail. We love that they’re each showstoppers in their own way. The informal dining area situated alongside the kitchen is home to a small, round white oak table and custom upholstered chairs. The built-in cabinetry behind is a continuation of the kitchen, and houses all of their dishware, serveware, and maybe a hidden bar!

Living Room
Right off the Kitchen, lands us in the Living Room. We added directional tongue & groove paneling to the built-in and fireplace walls, along with custom white oak open shelving to add a little warmth. I love the tailored feel of this room – from the pair of meticulously stitched leather chairs, to the stone & steel nesting coffee tables, and the relaxed vibe of the slipcovered sofa. Every piece was thoughtfully selected to carry the modern aesthetic throughout. The fireplace surround, hearth and mantle were constructed from a single piece of Pierre Blue limestone. It has a leathered finish to it, and above sits a stunning painting by Wolfgang Bloch.
