Welcome to the fourth and final part of our #mgdxwindward home reveal! Today, we’re headed outside and are taking you around the exterior of the home, including the dreamiest backyard space and pool bath we’d never want to leave. Keep scrolling – We can’t wait to share all of the architectural details that make this modern family home so special!
Front Exterior
First, let’s talk about the front exterior. Our clients worked closely with the team at Brandon Architects to dream up the design you see here today. They wanted a classic eastern seaboard-inspired home with a fresh take on transitional modern farmhouse style.
As you walk up to the home, you’ll see a mix of exterior materials – Traditional white lap siding, board & batten, stucco-washed brick, and charcoal-hued garage doors. Landscape designer Karen Miller worked to create a simplistic garden design to complement the architectural and material details of the home.
Back Exterior
The back exterior of this home is one of our favorite features of the house – It’s indoor/outdoor living at its best! Off of the family and dining rooms, two sets of large slider doors open up to this al fresco retreat. Our clients love to entertain, and they wanted a space where they could have friends and family over for pool parties and BBQ cookouts under the bright California sun.
Adjacent to the dining area is a trellis covered spot with double chaise loungers and the pool house bath (We’ll take you there next)! Lastly, tucked just behind the pool is a cozy fire pit seating area with loungers and a sofa. There’s just enough grass for the kids to run around outside while still giving everyone lots of fun areas to hang out in the backyard.
Pool Bath
Ah, the aforementioned pool bath. We love this fun and playful space so much! Patterned cement tile floors are wet-feet-friendly, and a custom white oak vanity with jute knobs is an ode to California beachy style. This space just makes us smile, and we know it will get lots of good use with all of the sunny weather and warm days ahead.
And that concludes our four part tour of the #mgdxwindward family home! If you missed any of the previous reveals, head here to catch up. On Monday we’ll be sharing all of the sources from this backyard retreat so you can bring a little of our Windward style home with you. Thanks for following along!
